Route Maps

Route maps are a very powerful Cisco feature for selecting and modifying IP packets and routes. Route maps are an important tool for controlling route redistribution and are an essential part of BGP configuration. They are also the only practical way to perform policy routing.

The CCIE lab exam will require you to use route maps in many situations. You need a thorough understanding of route maps in order to pass the test. In this week's Zone newsletter, John Neiberger explains Route Maps.
