Each section of this Workbook covers a single topology (with possible overlay of some technologies). Each section challenges the candidate with several pages of complex "tasks" and "technical tips" associated with that specific technology. Also included in sections 1-19 is an "Instructor's Comments" section. This section was designed and written by a Cisco Certified Instructor and provides the CCIE candidate with insightful information pertaining to that section. Each of these labs (Sections 1 - 19) has an average completion time of 1 to 3 hours. This method allows the candidate to concentrate and master each individual technology in an orderly fashion with the ability to focus on a single "weaker" technology if needed.
Section Twenty consists of 5 complex labs. These scenarios will have ANY & possibly ALL of the technologies that are covered in the previous sections. These labs have an average completion time of 10+ hours. These 5 labs do not contain "technical tips" or "Instructor's Comments" and have been designed to be used as actual CCIE sample labs.
The Workbook continues to include a complex "Troubleshooting" section. Cisco may be eliminating the "troubleshooting" day from the exam but don't expect to be able to pass the new one-day lab without strong working knowledge of a variety of troubleshooting skills. This section of the Workbook will help you develop and refine those skills.
The newest addition to the Workbook is a one-day preparation lab scenario that simulates the type of challenge you can expect to encounter with Cisco's new one-day format. This new one-day lab is designed to take eight hours to complete and includes a comprehensive set of moderator comments that parallel the level of guidance and assistance you can expect to receive from a live moderator during your actual exam. Also included are three pages worth of extremely pertinent advice and tips for getting yourself prepared for Lab Exam Day.

To round off this advanced workbook you will receive a documentation CD with the correct configurations for all sections (including the new one-day lab). These configurations have been tested and verified by the CCIE certified engineers who assisted in the development of this product. The standard network topology as well as on-line rack access procedures will also be included on the documentation CD.
A standard network / physical topology has been used for all of the lab scenarios included in the workbook. The topology consists of 13 routers, an ATM switch, a frame relay switch, an ISDN simulator, voice capabilities & remote power capabilities. The same physical topology can be reserved on-line.
