Securing Communications I

Securing communications is a serious concern for businesses today, especially as more and more information management and distribution is done electronically rather than on paper. This tutorial deals with the encryption side of the problem. It begins on a conceptual basis, conveying the underlying ideas behind encryption. With the basic knowledge in place, the tutorial turns to how cryptography is functionally applied to a message: for content protection, for authentication and non-repudiation, and for verification of secure passage, using IPSec.
