Five-Step Preparation Kit for
Passing the Cisco CCNA Exam

Why Obtaining the Cisco CCNA Certification is Worth the Effort

The CCNA is an excellent certification for entry level staff in the networking industry. The reasons for this vary depending on whether you are new to Cisco® and networking or whether you are a more established networker.

For those who are new to Cisco or networking, the CCNA provides testing of a solid foundation of network basics and also basic Cisco device operation. This is becoming more and more relevant as fewer companies are spending capital on test labs and environments for staff training and testing. It also serves to identify weaknesses and strengths in different technology areas and lets you know what you know and what you don't.

For the more established networker looking to pursue higher level certification, it serves as the first required exam in Cisco certification tracks and again lets you know what you know. It also serves to give a gentle introduction for established networkers to how Cisco asks exam questions and gives you a feel for the Cisco way of doing things. These factors also lead to confidence and competence in base level positions in the network industry. More and more employers are seeking base level qualifications as entry level requirements in networking.

In addition to validating your experience and expertise, your effort to obtain the CCNA certification also serves as evidence that you are willing and eager to do what is necessary to improve your skills. It is this attitude that employers weigh most heavily when making hiring, promotion, and salary adjustment decisions.
